![]() ![]() It hits in a way that I don't think other R140 emulations quite manage. I think I prefer its sound to most algorithmic reverbs though. Kiloheart's convolution snapin also has some very useful options for even more creative purposes.Īcustica's Silver is also really nice, but obviously very taxing on the system so not always a practical choice. Powerful and the plugin has a good preset system which has made it easy to hook up my huge collection of third-party IRs. I am particularly fond of Room and Vintage Verb.įor convolution, I really like what Melda have done with their latest MConvolutionMB. I do prefer using Valhalla's reverbs when I need to spend more time designing a space and it's more important to the end result. It's fast, flexible, efficient and only sounds bad or wrong if I dial it in that way. It's still good quality and the plugin gives me all the controls within easy access. ![]() I know it's not the best and I don't really care. Overwhelming really.įor general space establishing I like SSL's Flexverb. UVI plates I find do the job Altiverb has it all as well. I like the IK Multimedia stuff but I think my favourites are from UVI. If I did pop/rock production, I would probably invest in the lexicon pcm native bundle, though it is quite spendy. Pro-r, Valhalla, and the others are not quite up to par for pure realism, though they might be quite effective on pop music. Phoenixverb is fairly good, as is the relab lx480. However, there are still occasions where I use waves IR1 with the Sunset Chamber IR from the Bricasti set, and a very nice piano hall IR from the older Roland VSTF set.įor algorithmic reverbs, I find breeze 2.5 to be the most realistic, with flux verb being a close second. plus the ability to actually move your source and receiver around in the hall is a massive attribute. I have had altiverb, inspirata, pro-r, flux verb, waves IR1, breeze2.5, relab lx480, phoenixverb, and of course innumerable others like Valhalla, epic verb, liquidsonicsreverberate, etc etc.Īfter extensive testing of a variety of convolution reverbs, I have sold altiverb in favor of inspirata - for example, the Berliner Hall IR for altiverb is around 1mb, while the IR for Berliner hall in inspirata is over 9gb - yes, 9gb…. I do chamber music so it is critical to have very realistic reverb available. Though I could not get used to VintageVerb so far. Almost always I come back to Vahlalla reverbs, hehe. ) and then I test some reverbs again and again. ![]() Yet I have some weird reverb-testing days from time to time (quite excessive tbh. Also Valhalla reverbs are rather low on CPU especially Plate, which I just love. But in the last days coincidentally I found Plate to be very usefull and transparent in a musical context as well and I might start to use it more often now. While Room can sound somehow more realistic, I guess. Personally I really love Valhalla Room and Valhalla Plate. MCharmVerb (basically the main MTurboReverb algorithm, but in a way less flexible plugin, yet still powerfull and nice sounding).OrilRiver (also some cool free reverb no real product page, unfortunately).Valhalla Supermassive (almost some kind of a reverb).I somehow forgot about this one, nice for a free reverb! Regarding free ones, here are some more, just in case somebody might find it helpful: ![]()
